I have an obsession with hunting down and saving Superman art online.

There is so much great stuff out there that is unpublished, but done by professional artists as commission work, or perhaps lesser known guys plying their trade online, sketches of past work on artists’ social media… it’s just endless. I’m always looking for stuff and have saved way more art on my computer than I probably need to, but it makes me really happy.

I figured I’d start a new feature this week, and share art of a particular theme with you guys as a sort of a “dump” like folks do on Tumbler and that sort of thing, and I figured I might as well start with one of my favorites, Steve Rude, who has done so much amazing Superman work that has flown under the radar.

We all know Dude’s published Superman work for DC, but he also has had a thriving commissions gig on the side for many years that has produced some AMAZING stuff. It’s a huge reason I decided to order a commission from him a few years ago, and am thinking of doing the same again one of these days soon.

In the meantime, enjoy some of his amazing work on the Man of Steel that I have come across over the last few years!
