Okay, way too excited about this tweet from Henry Cavill’s agent, Dany Garcia, who also happens to be a producer on the upcoming DC movie Shazam!, which hints at Henry making a cameo appearance in the upcoming film.
In general, I’ve never really been drawn to Captain Marvel, probably because a) He was a deliberate rif on Superman when he first premiered in the 1940s, at one point even outselling the Man of Steel (until DC sued the pants off Fawcett Comics and won, which is a huge reason why they own the rights to Captain Marvel today), and b) I’ve never really been a fan of stories with little kids as the main character. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the way Mark Waid and Alex Ross used him as a foil for Superman in “Kingdom Come,” and how some others have been able to make the Big Red Cheese his own character over the years, most notably Paul Dini and Geoff Johns. Still, I’ll take the genuine article over Cap any day.
I wasn’t excited about Captain Marvel’s new film originally, but now that there’s a possibility Superman will be in it, I am now. 🙂
