Years ago I recall Superman watches being kind of a big deal.
They may have never have been as big of a deal as say, Mickey Mouse watches, but still have had a devoted following. Many of the recent Death and Return of Superman collected editions come with pictures of the paraphernalia released in conjunction with the story, one of which was the now infamous “Reign” watch depicting the four Superman crests.
I believe Dan Jurgens has one in his personal collection, which is pretty awesome.

In college, I recall the pastor who led the Bible study I would attend wore a silver watch with the Superman logo with whatever outfit he was wearing that day. It was a subtle nod to being a Supes fan, while still looking stylish and with it. In many ways, it sparked a renewed interested in Superman for me when I saw that someone could make it look cool as an adult.

I was pleasantly surprised last month to have been contacted by Filippo Loreti about promoting their new line of licensed Superman watches in conjunction with the release of the recent movie, and have to say I really love the sample watch I was sent to write a review!

I selected the Fortress of Solitude Ice Blue from the House of El divers line, and it looks gorgeous! Mine came in a beautiful collectors box, which included a comic cover slipcase and DC/WB logo on the outside. So far so good.

The watch itself is solidly metal for its face and centerpiece, and feels nice and hefty on your wrist, and if I may say, truly a man’s piece.
You have to love how the back of the watch is engraved, as well, with the ‘S’ shield, Filippo Loreti’s name, and Kryptonese characters!
LOVED that!!

I’ll confess I was a little let down by the fact that the band is a plastic/rubber material, which clashes a bit with the nice quality of the watch itself. At the same time however, it does feel comfortable and look quite nice.
Plus, a metal band would likely increase the cost of the watch and put it into a higher category of pricing, which watches can go to very easily. The watch retails for $299, which is very reasonable given its quality.

I’m thrilled and honored to have been sent this piece for review. It is a handsome piece for a man’s outfit, and I feel it is right in line with other Superman collector watches that have been released in the past.

As fans, let’s take advantage of the avalanche of cool Superman stuff that’s being released this summer of 2025! I really enjoy this watch, and would highly recommend.
I included more details about the entire Filippo Loreti release itself last month, so feel free to check that out or visit https://filippoloretiwatches.com/collections/superman-x-filippo-loreti-collection to pre-order your own!
