It absolutely blows my mind what people can create nowadays.
I’m dating myself a bit as I say that, since the two amazing animated Superman clips I recently discovered are over a decade old. Still, Disney and animation veteran Robb Pratt created two absolutely beautiful Superman short clips on his own that I recently came across on YouTube. The clips are heavily inspired by the Fleischer shorts and earliest Superman tv shows, and are clearly a love letter to the character that is just fantastic.

Each video is about 90 seconds with some “extra” content with the creator at the end. One video features Superman fighting a giant “mechanical monster-esque” baddie while the other features the Man of Steel encountering his doppelganger, Bizarro.

The voices of Superman and Lois Lane are even voiced by John Haymes Newton, aka Superboy, and his wife Jennifer Newton, whose voices are pitch perfect for their parts!

I have no idea how I came across these, and have no idea if Pratt has any plans to do more (or, more importantly, if DC wants to hire him to do more), but man, even if this is all we get it is pretty spectacular.

Pratt still has an active Twitter handle where you can see designs and sketches of his work, and he seems like a really cool guy. Massive respect for giving his fellow super fans something to enjoy.
